The Groundwork Method

Learn by
fixing broken things.

Most courses have you design "dream apps" that never exist. We give you broken interfaces and bad UX flows, and teach you how to fix them using logic.

  • Real-world scenarios

Deal with constraints, messy data, and stakeholder requests.

  • Portfolio-ready outputs

Every workshop results in a case study artifact.

Common questions from beginners

Do I need to know how to code?

No. While understanding how HTML/CSS works helps (and we cover the basics in the "Systems" workshop), you do not need to write code to be a successful UX designer.

Which software should I download?

We recommend Figma. It is the industry standard, it's free to start, and it runs in your browser. All our UI workshops use Figma.

How long does it take to learn UX basics?

Our “Learn UX 101” workshop is 4 weeks long. Most students feel comfortable taking on small freelance projects after about 8-12 weeks of consistent study and practice.

Don't overthink it.

The best way to learn UX is to start doing it. Grab a workshop, open Figma, and break some things.

Includes all workshops, community access, and mentor feedback.
